great news :)
I'M A MISSIONARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
okay everyone first of all i have great news. especially Dolly will be proud of me for this. EH HEM. well. sometimes we get in and we plan and i'm SO TIRED and we have tons of updating or calls before 10 to make or i dunno, and THEN i just talk and talk and talk to the other sisters in the apt. and then it's time for bed. so I OFTEN don't write in my journal, but i always try and catch up! well.... about a week ago... i was 23 days behind.................. :0..... it's TRUE. but the great news is that I AM OFFICIALLY CAUGHT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!
................. i know that's not a big deal to anyone but it was a big deal here!!!! haha so thought i'd announce it. :)
ANYWAYS. OKAY lets see here leeeeeets SEE at what i want to talk about this week... well let me tell you about Jose y Rosa. i dunno if i have yet! oh man okay THEY ARE SO CUTE. i love them. hahaha Jose is such a crack up, he is 70 years old and is signed up in the soccer practice thing you have to pay for, with a bunch of 20 yr olds! and he plays every weekend, it is probably one of the most important things in his life right now... hahaha it's actually what's keeping him from church, BUT. he'll get there :) he's so funny though, he's gonna break his hip or something! but his wife Rosa just rolls her eyes at him :) anyway they are progressing SO WELL. he loves reading and when we come, they say there's a light that follows us and they love it, it feels so good. MAN I KNOW!!! so we're working on a baptism date for them in Oct, but they still aren't POSITIVE, but they will be then :)
well MOM you will be proud to know that when we went to clean a less actives house this week cause she just had her baby? I actually.... loved it.... i was goin nuts. haha and when we had to leave I WANTED TO STAY AND CLEAN. so that's weird and i dunno what's happening to me but it's a good thing i suppose. :) so when i get home the kitchen will always be clean. i will... noooooot actually promise that........ but I WILL TRY! i got you!
well Jose is doing wonderful. we're getting him involved in family history!!! and he's getting the priesthood :) we had a lesson with him and he just seemed so down... so i asked him what was wrong and he was like... how did you know? and i was like.. well.... you uh look really sad... haha but uh yeah he's just been really down about how no one wants to accept the gospel. mainly his family though, he doesn't want them to pull away from him. he started to cry and seeing an adorable little OLD MAN CRY is the WORST THING IN THE WORLD. it was so sad... but we talked to him about faith, and hope, and just trusting in the Lord, and by the end he was like, yep i just gotta be an example! and never give up! haha he learns so fast :) he's the best. he snuck his granddaughter over to the church on sunday when his daughter was sleeping after work, hahahaha so that she could see the church she was gonna be baptized into one day :) haha!!
OKAY FUNNY STORY. hahahahaha i feel like the biggest FOOL. if you don't speak spanish... it won't be AS funny. but still, so we were going to a less actives to see her new baby and she texted us and said (in spanish) okay well the Plomeros are here is that okay with you guys? and i was like.... the plomeros... who are they?? is there a reason we wouldn't be okay with that? are they less actives? do they hate the church? and i went through the ward list trying to search for their name but they weren't there.......... and then we went to her house, and outside was a big truck, it was the Plumbers.............. guys............. Plomero means PLUMBER. hahahahahhaa i didn't know that. i don't know if you all think it's funny but i laughed pretty hard. just cause i was scrambling through all these lists trying to find out... anyway. HAHA. so funny.
OH MY GOSH I ALMOST FORGOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! okay so holy lawkdfp0w 8aeyrfk;ajsdfh NOEMI. noemi was in the hospital again, she had blood clots, and we were on bikes so we couldn't get there for a while, and THEN she got transferred two hours away without us knowing and so we couldn't say goodbye... :( and she wasn't answering our calls or anything. we couldn't find her. i cannot TELL YOU GUYS how much I was freaking out! haha well i mean i wasn't freaking out but i just wanted to talk to her AND I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO SAY GOODBYE OKAY?? so yeah i was kinda upset..... :( ............. but FINALLY i got a hold of her a couple days ago and best news in the world. she FOUND A MORMON FAMILLY who is willing to take her to church and gonna find her missionaries :) AHHH!!!!!! i freaked. haha i'm SO HAPPY. so she will be able to be baptized!!!!!!!! those lucky missionaries whoever they are. i hope they take care of her.
OH. hehehahaha DAD THIS IS FOR YOU. but for everyone. but a specific thank you for the EFY cd from the 80's that you put on my ipod thingy... i hadn't ever listened to it and i whipped it out the other day and I AM IN LOVE. hahahah they are so classic with the fake thunder in the backround and everything. I jam out in an appropriate missionary way every morning :) there's this one called Walk on, and it's probably my favorite in the universe. hahaha oooh man it's funny.
ANYwho.
Okay LET ME TELL YA real fast, how awesome Jorge Noda is. so he's the less active we just got back to church, and he is the greatest. we had a hastening the work lesson with him, and asked him to help us in any way he could, and at first he was like... well... i'll try but i'm really busy so i can't commit myself fully to the church right now, and we just explained how everything is step by step, he doesn't have to be perfect, he just has to work his way up, and so he said the closing prayer, and he paused in it, and said... and God, i am going to do everything i can...... to help this church.... please help me. AHHHH man and then the NEXT DAY HE CALLED US TWICE WITH 2 DIFFERENT REFERRALS!!!!!!!!! with numbers and names and they already said we could come by and GEEZ you guys all better be finding referrals! haha it was so awesome. made me so happy.
okay the morenos :) ooooh MAN GEE DANG i love that family. haha if i wasn't a missionary i would seriously just go hang out there and uh just pretend to be mexican and be part of their family. they fed me a chicken wing the other night and said it had no spice so i ate it but i SHOULD've known cause mexican food always has spice... and it was way too hot for me... soo..... then they laughed. haha anyway. they're doing great, the daughter? she's 11!! she reads more than them! it is awesome. she is the best. she says it makes her feel good before she goes to sleep, and also she's bringing it to SCHOOL WITH HER TO READ. hahaha she's gonna convert the whole world one day :)
oh boy i'm just happy this week. i'm always happy but I just really really love seeing the gospel work in peoples lives. cause it does work. It is never a waste of time. i wanna challenge you all to do a little extra service this week. we think about ourselves way too much! no one will ever really be happy that way. take a second and look at everyone else, forget yourself, and just work for someones happiness. I promise it will be the best decision you ever made. don't make excuses! we're all on the same team here. we all decided to be here, we all wanna get back. so HELP YOUR PEOPLE!!!! make an effort :)
I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH. don't EVER GIVE UP ON ANYTHING.
